Here are some pix from Easter, Mykah's spring program, and just a day in the life of the Boriches... Sorry for the delay, but we wanted to send my mom a photo album of new pix for Mother's Day, so I waited to update the blog. I didn't want her to see the pix on here first!
I mentioned our super-ugly fireplace during my Christmas post, and Joe & I have known that we need to do something with the tile. The carpet was blue prior to our moving in, so it didn't stick out quite so sorely then. Since we re-carpeted the whole house(4 veterinary students lived here before us~they each had a dog and a cat or 2, so we didn't feel we could bring our kiddos in without getting rid of all that pet hair), it was the first thing we noticed every time we walked in the front door. When Cornell went on Spring Break, Joe had the house to himself and decided to take on his first home improvement project. He sliced off a portion of his finger in the process. He was in the garage, cutting backer board to lay the new tile on when it happened. He came in the house (and, of course, ruined my good towels) to try to stop the bleeding. When he couldn't stop it, he went back out to the garage, found the piece of his finger, (on the ground of the garage floor, mind you) and put it back in place. Then he wrapped it up with gauze and waited for us to get home. That night was Mykah's spring program (see below), so he wouldn't go to the doctor because he'd have missed the program. Of course, the next day I forced him to go. The doctor was amazed at what he did, but tried to clean it, and put him on a monster antibiotic (to combat the garage floor germs). He told him there was a slight chance that it would grow back together, but most likely would turn black and fall off. I told Joe that night that if anyone could grow a piece of finger back, it was him. I was right! Other that being a different color than the rest of his finger, the piece did reattach.

TA-DA!! AFTER~

Who thinks it was worth it? I do and, believe it or not, so does Joe! Good job, honey! Thank you so much~it's beautiful!
Spring means rain...
Guess what are on my feet?
Max LOVES Mykah's rain boots...Joe's so proud!
Really cold Easter egg hunt in our yard~Max isn't impressed!
Eggs weren't the only thing getting colored today. A trip to the mall made Mykah look like a human Easter egg. Her new obsession is dolphins, hence the dolphin on her cheek.

Max was more interested in eating the eggs and just being cute! I think he succeeded...

Spring Program. Mykah was completely geeked because she had a speaking part. Her line was "And there's nothing wrong with that." She nailed it perfectly. Too bad I didn't realize our camera does video PRIOR to her spoken line...

Our little chef loves to help in the kitchen any chance she gets!
